Updated Health and Safety Policies

11/08/20 Update

In light of the new government guidance making masks mandatory, we would like to update you on our current policies. These policies are in place to keep both our customers and staff safe. We’ve made great strides over the past few months but we are still in the middle of a pandemic so we’ve got to take the appropriate steps.

Masks/face coverings are required in all our retail areas. This includes both the shop area and our showroom. Gov.uk defines face covering as “something which safely covers the nose and mouth” so this can include a scarf, bandana or something hand-made from cloth. It just has to wrap tightly around your face.

When buying from our trade counter you will be asked to wear a mask. For those of you who cannot for medical reasons, please ensure you remain socially distanced for your own and other customers safety. We also offer the option of placing your orders over the phone, to reduce your risk.

All our shop areas have signage to remind you of your obligation to wear a mask.

Our Chequers road counter has a one-way system set up. Both counters have social distancing markers on the floor and screens in front of our staff on the counter. There are also hand sanitisers at various points around the depot.

Both depots are back to normal hours. Branches are open for both the trade and public to come in, with no need for appointments or pick up slots etc. Our depots have been able to do this because the majority of customers have respected the rules, however, if people decide to ignore these and we feel our staff are in any way in danger we may have to restrict opening again.

We don’t expect it to come to this, but we must highlight that the safety and wellbeing of our staff and customers are paramount.
